Eleanor Emily Tockey, 88, of Maxwell, NE passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Great Plains Health Hospital in North Platte, NE. Eleanor was born on December 1, 1935 in Cairo, NE the daughter of Carl and Alvira (Kroeger) Harders.
Eleanor was married on December 6, 1952 to Thomas Paul Tockey and together they had six children. Eleanor enjoyed bird watching and gardening. She was known for her prize fried chicken. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are husband of 72 years, Thomas; children, Deborah (Jeff) Simonton of North Platte; Bradley Tockey of Maxwell, Kimberly Parrett of Maxwell; and Amy Tockey of Maxwell; daughter in law, Peggy Sue Tockey of North Platte; grandchildren, Melissa (Buddy) Gore, Heather (Nathaniel) Jones, Joseph (Melissa) Crick, Lindsay Simonton, Lacey Simonton, Brandi Coleman, Thomas (Bethany) Tockey, Seth Tockey, Cody Tockey, Sara (Aaron) Vieyra, Tyler Tockey, Austin (Brianna) Tockey; 23 great grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; sister, Carol Ann Frederick of Kearney; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Kelly Brian Tockey and Michael Alan Tockey; grandsons, Bradley “Scooter” Michael Tockey and Rolland Lee Tockey Sr.; great grandson, Rolland Lee Tockey Jr; great granddaughter, Kaitlan Malcom; brother, Bernard Harders. She was also predeceased by her beloved pet dog, “Rusty”.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Berean Church with Pastor John Stone officiating. A meal will follow the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
