Colleen Agnes Savage, aged 89, of North Platte, passed away on August 6, 2024, at Great Plains Health. She was born to Ray and Agnes (Sedlacek) Smith in Paxton, NE, on May 13, 1935.
Throughout her childhood, Colleen moved frequently with her family. It was in her teen years that she met and married her high school sweetheart, Frank Eugene Savage. The couple had four children together: Carol, Connie, Frankie, and Rhonda, and settled in North Platte where they worked and raised their family. Colleen spent the first several years of her children’s lives at home with them but then later worked at Natural Nutrition House for a long period before working at Kids Korner Daycare.
Colleen was an outstanding chef and baker and was an avid Husker football fan. She enjoyed cross stitching and gardening, from flowers to vegetables. Colleen was known as a sweet soul and was always kind and caring and filled with fun. She adored her cats, Sassy, Blacky, and Tuffy, as well as her Yorkies, Tinker and Teddy.
Those that survive Colleen include her children, Carol (Larry) Hemenway of Paxton, Connie (Bill) Thrash of North Platte, and Rhonda (Craig) Warneke of North Platte; grandchildren, Denny Thrash of McPherson, KS, Tina (Patrick) Way of North Platte, Elizabeth (Zach) Snow of Kansas City, MO; daugter-in-law, Deanna Savage; several great grandchildren; siblings, Merril Smith of North Platte and Anita Brooks of North Platte.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Frank; parents; son, Frankie; brothers, Raymond and Donald Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:30 AM, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Baldwin as officiant. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 12 PM to 4PM with family present from 2 PM to 4 PM at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
