Rhonda Yauk, 64 of Paxton, NE, died Monday, March 18, 2024, at Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE.
Rhonda was born August 25th, 1959, in McCook, NE to Harry and Priscilla (Smith) Goosey. She attended schools in North Platte, Nebraska. She then moved to the rural Paxton area where she married Lew Vasquez, SR. and where they raised their three boys, after Lew and Rhonda divorced, she moved into Paxton.
Once in Paxton, Rhonda worked for Titan Industries for several years. Rhonda also worked for Pitstop, Ole’s Lodge, and Windy Gap.
Rhonda then met Pete Yauk and they were married and made their home in Paxton and, with this union joined both their families.
Rhonda was a proud member of the Paxton Volunteer Fire Department for many years, she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a very active member in the Paxton Community.
Rhonda found so much joy in following her children and then grandchildren to their sporting events, school activities, and County fairs.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her husband, Pete Yauk; father Harry Goosey; six sons, Jason (Tia) Vasquez of Cleveland, OH, Lew (JoAnn) Vasquez, Jr. of Paxton, NE, Justin (Jaime) Vasquez of Topeka, KS, Braden (Jessica) Yauk of Waterloo, IA, Colton (Angela) Yauk of Martinsville, KY, and Victor Yauk of Biloxi, MS; sixteen grandchildren and one Great-Grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in the United Methodist Church in Paxton, Nebraska with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the Paxton Cemetery in Paxton, Nebraska.
A memorial has been established in Rhonda's name to the Paxton Volunteer Fire Department.
