NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-The Nebraska Public Power District and utilities across the state are continuing their work to restore power after severe storms wreaked havoc from the Panhandle to Omaha.
NPPD said, initially, around 8,000 of their customer were without power across the state.
As of 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, NPPD reported 550 customers in Plattsmouth and 110 customers in Kearney who remain without power.
NPPD said some customers without power suffered damage to the service head that connects their home or business to the power line. This must be repaired by a licensed electrician.
NPPD says restoring power to those still without as quickly and safely as possible is their top priority.
As of late afternoon Saturday, Dawson Public Power reported numerous customers, mostly in Lincoln County, who remain without power.
Dawson customers are encouraged to call 800-752-8305 to report outages.
