
Alan Carl Knudsen, age 79, of Cozad, Nebraska passed away on November 2, 2020 at Emerald Care Nursing Home in Cozad. He was born on November 2, 1941 in Lexington, Nebraska to Carl and Nina (Rasmussen) Knudsen. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cozad and was also a lifelong member.
Alan graduated from Cozad High School in 1960 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy. He served our country until he was honorably discharged after serving in Sicily and France. Alan served in the National Guard from 1974 until 1982. He was a self-employed farmer for several years and then worked at New Holland until his retirement.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a longtime member of the Cozad Elks Lodge.
Alan's family includes his son Chris (Loni) Knudsen of Cozad, Nebraska; his daughter Michell (Bud) Mondt of Funk, Nebraska; and his sister Lana (Alan) Moeller of Lincoln, Nebraska. Alas has 5 grandchildren: Logan (Whitney) Knudsen of Yutan, Nebraska, Dane (Megan) Knudsen of Aurora, Illinois, Garrett Skow of Kearney, nebraska, Payden (Logan) Hunke of Cozad, Nebraska, and Max Skow of Holdredge, Nebraska. He also has 4 great-grandchildren: Soren, Abbott, and Niels Knudsen and Dante Skow.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Hoot Gibson; and a sister, Judy Gibson.
A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020.
