NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — As the summer travel season approaches and local attractions prepare to welcome visitors, Visit North Platte is gearing up to showcase everything Lincoln County has to offer.
To ensure staff and volunteers are well-prepared to assist tourists, Visit North Platte will host its annual Attraction Tour on Monday, May 19. The tour is designed to give team members firsthand experience and up-to-date information about the area’s most popular destinations.
Jim Griffin, curator of the Lincoln County Historical Museum, will lead the tour, offering his extensive knowledge of local history and sharing lesser-known facts about the region.
Participants will visit or learn about a variety of attractions including Dusty Trails, Buffalo Bill State Historical Park, the Lincoln County Historical Museum, the Golden Spike Tower, Fort Cody Trading Post, the Old Depot Vineyard & Winery, Feather River Vineyard, Fort McPherson, Grain Bin Antique Town, Cody Go-Karts, Peg Leg Brewing, the 20th Century Veterans Memorial, the Downtown Canteen District, the Sculpture Walk Across Nebraska project, and the Cody Park Railroad Museum.
The group will also enjoy lunch at Capone’s as part of the daylong event.
Visit North Platte expressed gratitude to Buffalo Bill State Historical Park, Dusty Trails, the Golden Spike Tower, and the Lincoln County Historical Museum for offering complimentary access and support to make the tour possible.
“These tours help prepare our volunteers—our ‘Fun Advisors’—to provide the best possible experience for visitors to North Platte and Lincoln County,” the organization said in a statement. “We appreciate the community’s support as we head into another exciting tourism season.”
