Dallas Eugene White (1932-2020)

Dallas Eugene White, age 88, of North Platte, Nebraska died December 4, 2020 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He was born February 5, 1932, to Leonard White and Nola (Ryker) White in North Platte.

Dallas graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1949. He entered the United States Army, serving in Korea. He returned to North Platte where he was a brand inspector with Glen Helberg. Dallas married Nita Clafflin in February 1958. To this union two children were born; Dallas and Monty.

Dallas farmed and worked as a carpenter for many years. In 1979 he married Rosemary Towne and they owned and operated the Rambler Motel in North Platte for many years. Rosemary and Nita preceded him in death in 2003. He loved animals, especially his dog, and rodeoed in his younger years. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. A very giving person, he had a sweet tooth, and loved being with people. Enjoyed music, going to dances at the Senior Center, dressed to impress, complete with a tie, cowboy hat and good smelling cologne, and loved listening to the music; as well as being musical himself, playing the violin with his brother and grandfather.

Survivors include his brother Don (Judy) White of Mullen, Nebraska, son; Dallas (Renee) White of North Platte, Nebraska, daughter-in-law; Cindy White, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, step-children; Cathy (Roger) Kennicutt, and Steve Walker, Gothenburg, Nebraska, Gayle Anderson, Loveland, Colorado and Marsha Lippstreu, Missouri, 6 grand-children; Laci (Danny) McCallum, Collierville, Tennessee, Lee (Shaylee) White, Megan (Ryan) Kelly, North Platte. Nebraska, Jake (Jakeh) White, Gothenburg, Nebraska, Jessie (Matt) McNally, Cozad, Nebraska, Chase White, Gothenburg, Nebraska, 14 great-grandkids, many nieces and nephews.

Dallas was preceded in death by his parents; Leonard, Nola; brother & sister-in-law; Lyle (Evelyn) White; his son; Monty White; and his wives, Nita and Rosemary.

Memorial are suggested to Adams and Swanson Funeral Home in memory of Dallas.

Graveside services 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.
