The Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team opened its 2026-27 season with several individual honors and strong team finishes at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association rodeo hosted by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
The MPCC men’s team finished second overall with 660 points, while the women’s team placed fourth with 80 points.
Nine MPCC athletes earned honors during the weekend competition under the leadership of three-time consecutive Great Plains Region Coach of the Year Aukai Kaai.
Kahiwa Augustiro led the way for MPCC, winning the Men’s All-Around title and the Bull Riding championship. He also finished third in Bareback Riding.
Talon Krolikowski placed fourth in the Men’s All-Around standings and earned a second-place finish in Saddle Bronc Riding. Wyatt Davis added a second-place finish in Bull Riding.
MPCC also had two teams finish in the top four in Team Roping. Evan Richter and Colton Kehano placed third, while Bailey Sproat and Aiden Augustiro finished fourth.
Other individual highlights included third-place finishes by Kilia Gall in Barrel Racing and Carsyn McBride in Breakaway Roping.

MPCC to Host Stampede in Sutherland
The MPCC Rodeo Team will return to action this week as it hosts the Stampede in Sutherland, September 17-19.
The first performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, September 17, followed by slack, which features the overflow of events from the main rodeo.
On Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, slack will begin at 9 a.m., with the main performances scheduled for 7 p.m. each evening.
The public is invited to attend and support the MPCC Rodeo Team as it continues its season.
