NORTH PLATTE — Two North Platte animal welfare organizations are teaming up for a friendly competition next weekend aimed at helping local pets and community animals.
Trap Neuter Return – TNR North Platte and Paws-itive Partners will host “The Great Kibble Clash” on Sunday, March 15, from noon to 4 p.m.
The event will take place on East C Street between Jeffers and Dewey streets, near the Jackson Hewitt office. The street will be temporarily closed to allow easy access for people dropping off donations.
During the event, both organizations will collect pet food and monetary donations to support their work with local animals. Paws-itive Partners will be collecting dog and cat food for its Pet Food Pantry, which helps provide supplies for pet owners in need. Trap Neuter Return North Platte will be collecting cat food to help feed feral cats cared for through its program as well as cats currently in foster care.
Participants can choose which organization they want to support by bringing pet food donations and placing them in the back of the group’s pickup truck during the event. Monetary donations will also be accepted to support each group’s spay and neuter programs.
Organizers say the event is meant to be both a helpful supply drive and a fun way for the community to support local animal welfare efforts.
Residents are encouraged to stop by, donate pet food or funds, and help determine which organization collects the most during the friendly competition while supporting animals in the North Platte area.
