The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners is set to meet Monday morning, April 6, at the Lincoln County Courthouse in North Platte, with a full agenda that includes routine business, presentations, and discussions on public health and county operations.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Room and will open with prayer, followed by approval of minutes from the March 30 meeting and a public comment period. Commissioners will then consider several action items, including approval of claims and treasurer’s receipts, a special designated liquor permit for Big Red Liquor for an April 11 event at The Farmhouse, and a right-of-way application submitted by Olson Farms Inc.

At 9:15 a.m., the board will recess and reconvene as the Lincoln County Board of Equalization. During that portion of the meeting, officials will review and approve prior meeting minutes, hear public comment, and consider certificates of correction and refund from the County Assessor, along with motor vehicle tax exemption applications submitted by the County Treasurer.

The commissioners are scheduled to reconvene at 9:30 a.m., when a representative from Congressman Adrian Smith’s office will provide an update. Additional presentations throughout the morning include a 9:45 a.m. update from Nebraska Public Power District regarding a transmission line project, followed by a 10 a.m. presentation from Lincoln County Assessor Julie Stenger on damaged real property reporting.

At 10:15 a.m., West Central District Health Department Executive Director Meghan Trevino will speak about National Public Health Week, which runs April 6 through April 12.

Later in the meeting, commissioners will consider declaring several items as surplus property, including scrap iron, aluminum signs, and batteries, and may authorize their sale. The agenda also allows for a possible closed session to discuss matters such as litigation, real estate, security, or personnel evaluations if necessary.

The meeting will conclude with reports from elected officials, department heads, and committee members.

The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to take agenda items out of order and to enter closed session as needed. The meeting will be available for viewing on the county’s YouTube channel.
