Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run at Philip and Jeffers; North Platte Police Seeking Suspect

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 27, 2025) — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon while crossing legally in a crosswalk near the intersection of Philip and Jeffers streets in North Platte, according to police.

The incident occurred around 3:43 p.m. Authorities said the pedestrian was walking eastbound with the walk signal when a dark-colored mid-sized SUV—possibly maroon or purple—traveling westbound on Philip turned south onto Jeffers and hit the individual.

The vehicle reportedly paused momentarily at the scene before fleeing southbound on Jeffers Street without checking on the victim or offering aid.

The pedestrian sustained minor injuries.

The North Platte Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver or the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
