
Catherine Jean Sukraw, age 75, of North Platte, died May 27, 2022 at Centennial Park Retirement Community. She was born on October 26, 1946 in Alhambra, California to John Richard and Virginia Catherine (Peterson) Zavgren.
After graduation from high school, Catherine went on to Kearney State College where she received her BA in Education. Catherine married Loren Sukraw on December 27, 1969 in Phillips, NE. They made their home in Maxwell where Catherine was a teacher at Maxwell Public Schools for over 20 years, retiring in 2006.
Catherine enjoyed gardening, landscaping, cooking, reading, was a member at Bethel Church in North Platte, and led Bible study at Centennial Park.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Frid of Palm Harbor, FL; a son, Benjamin Sukraw of Lincoln, NE, a sister, Christine Zavgren; brother, John Zavgren; sister-in-laws, Marilyn Morton, and Sharon Wyttenbach; and a brother-in-law, Morris Sukraw.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Loren; in laws, Jarold and Inez Sukraw; sister-in-law, Carol (Sukraw) Kieselhorst; and an infant brother-in-law, Jarold Glen Sukraw. A memorial has been established to the Women’s Resource Center in North Platte, and online condolences can be made at www.adamsswanson.com.
Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 1, 2022 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with Pastor Geoff Safford officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12-5. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
