
Gladys ‘GG’ Gerrard of North Platte, Nebraska passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021 at the age of 97.
Gladys was born on June 1, 1923 in McCook, Nebraska to John and Alice Herman Lesser. She was united in marriage to Marland Theodore Gerrard on July 11, 1957 in Billings, Montana.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who always supported her family in all of their endeavors. She was very imaginative and creative in everything she did from writing children’s stories from deep within her heart to making beautiful quilts for her granddaughters. She was a dedicated homemaker, worked in restaurants and served the community as a babysitter and school crossing guard for Cody Elementary School.
She is survived by her beloved son, Leslie James Gerrard (Master Chief, U.S. Navy, Retired) and his adored wife Janet Staub of Mansfield, Texas; granddaughters, Crystal Lynn Gerrard of Denton, Texas, Diana Lea Gerrard of Winooski, Vermont; and Caroline Anderson-Staub of Truckee, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marland; parents, John and Alice; two sisters, Esther and Ruby; and brother, Reuben.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at North Platte City Cemetery with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Book signing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. February 1, 2021 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are requested to the family to be designated at a later date.
