North Platte, Ne - Nebraska's official state celebration doesn't technically begin until next Tuesday, June 11 when the annual Buffalo Bill Rodeo Golf Classic kicks off the celebration at Rivers Edge Golf Course, but many unofficial events begin this week.
The Prairie Arts Center in North Platte kicks off their month long Competitive Art Show on Tuesday, June 4.
The Miss Nebraska Scolarship Competition begins on Wednesday, June 5 with a Red Carpet Welcome Ceremony at Venue 304: Doors Open at 6:30, Delegates will arrive at 7:00pm. Red Carpet Attire– Open to the Public. Miss Nebraska events will continue on Thursday, Friday and conclude with the crowning of the new Miss Nebraska and Miss Teen Nebraska on Saturday evening at North Platte High School.
On Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 enjoy the Lincoln County Historical Museums annual Heritage Festival. (Schedule Below)
Miss Rodeo Nebraska kicks off on the heals of the Miss Nebraska competition on Sunday, June 9th with the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Horsemanship and BBQ at the Wild West Arena, beginning Sunday at 10:30am. Event is free to the public. Miss Rodeo Nebraska and Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska continues on Monday, June 10 with speech competition.
