Lela June Pyzer, 83, of North Platte, passed away January 19, 2022 at North Platte Care Center. She was born on June 26, 1938 to Elfert and Myrtle (Wing) Meyer in Sutherland.
Lela graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1956. She married Lowell E. “Pete” Pyzer on December 9, 1956 in North Platte and the couple lived in Tryon. Lela worked at St. Mary’s, Memorial, and later Great Plains Health from September 1975 to January 2006 as an EKG Tech. She owned the Longhorn Motel with husband Pete for many years. Lela had a hand in starting the EMT program at Tryon and was a member of the Tryon Fire and Rescue for over 30 years.
Lela enjoyed feeding and collecting birds, collecting angels and enjoyed bowling. She helped take meals to the elderly and watch those individuals in the community. She chased her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was a hardcore Raiders and Husker fan. Her faith was very important and she shared it with her family and friends.
Lela is survived by husband, Pete of North Platte; children, Lynn (Tina) Pyzer of North Platte, Layne (Marie) Pyzer of North Platte; daughter-in-law Judy Pyzer of North Platte; grandchildren, Jacob (Bekka White) Pyzer of Curtis, Brandi Pyzer of North Platte, McKenzie (Logan) Dowse of Curtis, Tel (Danneeka) Pyzer of North Platte, Amber (Mitch) Tatman of Stapleton; great grandchildren, Paxton, Madi, Miles, Hayden, Hudson, Hadlynn, Heaton, Abilene, Dalton, Raymond, Amelia; siblings, Phyllis (Phillip) Webster of North Platte, Linda Cooper of North Platte, Richard Meyer of Alliance; brother-in-law, Wesley Martin of North Platte; sisters-in-law, Joyce White, Rose Pyzer of California, Lila Stoddard of California; numerous other family members and many friends.
Lela was preceded in death by her parents, Elfert and Myrtle; son, Butch; daughter, Lauri Ann; siblings, Elfert Meyer, Frederick Meyer, Mary (Walter) Woodward, Donald Meyer, Carol (Neal) Olson, Lorna McCarter, Sherry Martin; in-laws, Gerald (Evelyn Daly) Pyzer, Leonard Pyzer, Loren Pyzer, Lavern Stoddard; infants Gayle and Ester Ann Pyzer.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 24, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Shannon Williams officiating. Visitation will be held noon-6:00 P.M., with family present from 4:00-6:00 P.M., Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend.
