Brayden Charles Hulquist, age 18, of North Platte, died October 31, 2025, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on August 11, 2007 in North Platte, NE to Brian and Eileen (Bourn) Hulquist.

Brayden attended North Platte High School until his sophomore year and graduated from Penn Foster November of 2024. He had completed on year at North Platte Community College in the welding program. Brayden had worked for Don and Linda Licking doing fencing and ranch work for several years. He also had worked at the Ethanol plant in Sutherland.

Brayden was a bull rider, and loved horses. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a great friend, with a big heart and always willing to help, and he had a way of lighting up a room when he walked in. He could be goofy and fun loving, always raising people’s mood with a joke or his expressions. Brayden was amazing around small children and loved all of them. He also had a creative mind and was very mechanical.

Survivors include his parents, Brian and Eileen of North Platte; a brother Gabe, of Abilene, TX; grandparents, Royce and Pauline Brown of Seneca, and Jim and Beth Bourn of Alliance; great grandfather, Jim Bourn of Lincoln; uncles and aunts, Kevin and Karen Hulquist of Wellington, CO, and their daughter Kylee, Luke and Lori Bourn of Newport, WA, and their children, Tyler and Aubrey; girlfriend, Faith Bennett of North Platte; Special aunt and uncle, Scott and Meg Craig of Alliance; numerous other family members and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Hulquist; great grandparents, Paul and Jackie Licking, Mary Bourn, Margaret and Dwight Salisbury, and Edna and Charlie Rotherham. Memorials may be directed in his memory and online condolences and a live stream of the service will be at adamsswanson.com.

Christian Wake Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday November 5, 2025 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday November 6, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jonathan Sorensen as celebrant. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12-7 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is charge of arrangements.
