Lincoln County Board to discuss Budget, Valuation changes at Aug. 11 meeting

North Platte, Neb. (AP) — The Lincoln County Board of Equalization is set to convene Monday, August 11, at 9:15 a.m. in the Commissioners Room of the Lincoln County Courthouse for a regularly scheduled meeting that includes routine business, property valuation updates, and ongoing budget discussions.

The meeting will open with a prayer, followed by the approval of minutes from the Aug. 4 meeting of the Board of Commissioners. Among items up for consideration are routine financial claims and treasurer’s receipts, fee reports from the sheriff, clerk, and register of deeds, and the final distress warrant report from the county treasurer. Commissioners will also vote on appointing Jason Schultz as the county’s Title VI Coordinator and on a right-of-way request from Telecom Construction for Lumen (CenturyLink) services.

At 9:15 a.m., the board will recess and reconvene as the Board of Equalization to consider corrections and refunds submitted by the County Assessor and review a valuation change listed as Notice No. 2025-024. Approval of minutes from the Equalization Board’s Aug. 4 meeting will also be on the agenda.

The Board of Commissioners will reconvene at 9:30 a.m. to consider a special designated liquor permit request from TBS Liquors NP LLC for a wedding reception scheduled Sept. 13 at Cottonwood Springs Venue. At 9:40, commissioners will recognize National Emergency Management Awareness Month.

Other scheduled items include authorizing a labor agreement with Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #26 at 9:50 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. discussion on a proposed resolution regarding rules and regulations for board meetings.

A closed session may be held to address litigation strategies, real estate transactions, security matters, or personnel evaluations if needed.
