-- Creighton Men's Soccer completed a sweep of its two matches in the Jesuit Invitational with a 4-1 win over Santa Clara on Monday, September 7. The win pushed the Bluejays to 5-0-1 on the season, while Santa Clara fell to 2-4-0.
The Bluejays raced out to an early 4-0, including three goals in the opening half.
Creighton's first tally came in the 13th minute as freshman Carter Tavares sliced through the Broncos defense to center a ball for junior Angel Lopez's third goal of the season with 12:37 on the clock.
The second goal saw sophomore Ayden Kokoszka deliver his third ball into the back of the net in 2026, finishing a series of touches from fifth-year Allan Juarez and freshman Jordan Igwenma at the 30:52 mark.
With less than two minutes remaining in the half Igwenma notched his fourth goal of the season by gathering a blocked shot from junior Toraji Narazaki with 43:49 showing.
Senior Matthew Reed capped the scoring for Creighton with his team-leading fifth goal in the 53rd minute (52:19), finishing touches by Juarez and junior Bautista Rossi.
Santa Clara pushed across a late goal in the 89th minute (88:06) as WillWiersdorf finished a 1-on-1 chance against reserve goalkeeper Clayton Brook.
Reed has now scored at least one goal in four consecutive matches, while Creighton as a team has surpassed its goal total from last season (21) with 22 goals in the first six matches.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Thursday, September 10 as the Bluejays host Saint Mary's College at 7:00 pm in Morrison Stadium.
