Ruth Edna Wilhelmson 97, of North Platte passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at North Platte Care Center. Ruth was born on March 24, 1926 to Milton and Edna Collins at North Platte. She married George Wilhelmson in Oberlin, Kansas on March 31, 1945, using both George's and his uncle's tire rations to drive to and from Oberlin due to the ongoing war at that time.

She was an active member of the Does, serving a term as the president. She also worked with the Shriners in their volunteer efforts. Ruth enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and most of all dancing.

Survivors include daughters Kay Uphoff of Lincoln Nebraska, Roxanne (Bill) Kubes; sisters, Dorothy Willard and Irene Miller; brother, Lewis Collins all of North Platte; grandchildren and families, Shane (Robin) Uphoff and daughter Molly, Blane (Jean) Uphoff, daughter Emily and son Jacob, Scott (Trish) Guenin and sons Cody (Brittanee), Dakota (Bailey), and Zayden Guenin, Dayne Guenin, and Cassie (Darin) Stearley, daughters Jadelyn, Dawsyn, Dezlyn, and son Draxten; as well as four great-grandchildren Amber, Hannah, Cameron and Colt Guenin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George; brothers-in-law Eldred and Fred Wilhelmson, Robert Miller and Lynn Willard; sisters-in-law Harriet Rohrbacker, Helen and Alberta Wilhelmson, and Charlene Collins; as well as son-in-law Milton Uphoff.

 A memorial has been established to the first Christian Church and online condolences can be made at www.adamsswanson.com.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 19, at the First Christian Church. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Adams & Swanson Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
