Michael E. Rundback was born on April 15, 1967, in Sutherland, Nebraska, to Morton and Charlotte (Wilson) Rundback. He attended school in Palisade, Nebraska and graduated from Palisade Public School with the class of 1985. Michael continued his education at Northwest Area Technical School in Goodland, Kansas where he studied autobody.
Mike took his education and put it to work; he excelled as an auto body technician. He worked for several years at Steve’s Auto Body in Ogallala, Nebraska and at Todd’s in Wauneta, Nebraska. He also took great pride in restoring the many classic cars while working with the team at Harchelroad’s in Imperial, Nebraska.
Mike enjoyed stargazing which led to a hobby of taking pictures of the night sky as well as sunsets. He loved farm life and his many pets. From a young age, Michael always loved tinkering; given enough free time, he could fix just about anything. He always had many painting and repair projects that he was working on at any given time.
Michael passed away Friday morning, October 21, 2022 at his home in Rural Palisade. He was 55 years of age.
He was preceded by his father, Morton L. Rundback.
Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Rundback of Palisade; daughter, Shelby Parker and husband, Cody, of Nebraska City, Nebraska; four grandchildren: Paisley, Jayslie, Koltleigh, and Briggs Parker all of Nebraska City; sister, Cheryl (Rundback) Aragon and husband, Frank, of Guernsey, Wyoming; brother, Guy Rundback and wife, Marj, of Palisade; and sister, Michelle (Rundback) Martinez of Gering, Nebraska. Mike was also an uncle to four nieces, two nephews, four great-nieces, and eleven great-nephews.
Cremation was chosen and graveside services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon, October 26, 2022 at the Palisade Cemetery with Pastor Elias Mukindia officiating.
