ORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The North Platte Police Department is investigating a reported sexual assault involving a minor child that was reported Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the department, officers responded at approximately 12:30 p.m. on June 23 to a residence in the 2300 block of East Philip Avenue after receiving a report of a sexual assault involving a child.

Investigators identified the suspect as 35-year-old Bradley Trisdale of North Platte. Police said Trisdale had already been removed from the residence by the child's mother before officers arrived.

The preliminary investigation indicates the child's mother had been in a dating relationship with Trisdale for about one year. On the morning of June 23, the mother reportedly left the residence for an appointment. When she returned home at approximately 12:15 p.m., she told officers that Trisdale appeared panicked and repeatedly stated that he had done something wrong.

According to police, the child then disclosed that Trisdale had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with her. Following the disclosure, the mother ordered Trisdale to leave the residence and contacted law enforcement.

Police said Trisdale later voluntarily turned himself in at the North Platte Police Department. Officers made contact with him, and investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division began conducting interviews.

A search warrant for the residence was obtained and executed at approximately 4:04 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators collected and secured evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.

The North Platte Police Department said the case remains under active investigation. Additional information will not be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved.
