Vacancy on Hershey Village Board to Be Filled May 21

HERSHEY, Neb. — The Hershey Village Board held there regular May meeting Monday night. Among the action items last night, the board excepted the resignation of Trustee Lucie Hengen-Reed. The vacancy on the Hershey Village Board of Trustees will be filled by appointment during a special meeting scheduled for May 21.

Hengen-Reed’s resignation was accepted on May 12, the village announced in an official notice. The special meeting to appoint her replacement will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Village Office, located at 104 S. Lincoln Ave. in Hershey.

The appointed trustee will serve the remainder of the term, which runs through December 2026.

Residents interested in filling the vacancy must be registered voters living within the village limits and be eligible for bonding. A letter of interest must be submitted to the Village Board of Trustees by 3 p.m. on May 20. Letters can be delivered to the Village Office, mailed to P.O. Box 353, Hershey, NE 69143, or emailed to [email protected].
