Richard Lee “Dick” Houchin, 80, of North Platte, passed away November 30, 2021 at Great Plains Health.  Dick was born October 30, 1941 to Jesse “Pete” Houchin and Doris Anderson, in North Platte, Nebraska.
Dick grew up in North Platte, he tended bar at the Alamo Bar and traveled with a family amusement company.  He married Julia French, August 6, 1964 in North Platte.  He worked for Diamond Engineering for many years, retiring as a foreman.  He and Julia owned Eat-A-Bite restaurant in downtown North Platte.  Dick continued to operate the café after Julia’s death.    Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing, while trapshooting became his passion later in life.  He loved to tinker on small engines and motorcycles. 
Dick is survived by his two children, Jaimie (Vonnie) Houchin, Rapid City, South Dakota, Janie (Scott Maddox) Houchin, Cozad, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren, Daniele (Cory) Helie, Arvada, Colorado, Allison (fiancé Kyle Novak) Baker, Axtell, Nebraska, Stefan (Allison Hardee) Baker, Callaway, Nebraska, Taylor Houchin, Chandler, Arizona, Colby (Aleah) Houchin, Keystone, South Dakota, Sawyer Houchin, Chandler, Arizona, Griffith Houchin, Rapid City, South Dakota; 4 great-grandchildren, Reverie Helie, Marvel Helie, Avery Baker, Ledger Houchin; along with numerous other family members and many friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Doris Houchin; his wife Julia Houchin; 3 sisters, Karen McCown, Sharon Hernandez, Jeannie Houchin; and brother, Michael Houchin.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December11, 2021 and Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Colby Houchin officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.  Book signing will be held noon-7:00, with family present 5:00-7:00, Friday, December 10, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.  The service will be live streamed via the Adams & Swanson Funeral Home Facebook page for those unable to attend.
