
Betty Eileen Nichols, 74, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away January 15, 2022, at Centennial Park Retirement in North Platte.
Betty was born October 15, 1947, to Wilmer and Margaretta (Prosise) Sprague, in North Platte, Nebraska. She grew up in North Platte. She worked at the Holiday Inn and later at various restaurants in North Platte. Betty was united in marriage to Gerald Nichols, September 14, 1984 in North Platte. Gerald proceeded her in death in 2007. Betty loved her pets, especially her yorkie. She loved traveling with her family to Colorado every year as the kids were growing up. She enjoyed gardening and excelled at everything she did.
Betty is survived by her two children, Tammy Nichols, West Monroe, Louisiana and Marcy Nichols, Gothenburg, Nebraska; seven grand-children, Kristen (Jamie) Harper, Ruston, Louisiana, Lyndsey Nichols, Ruston, Louisiana, Nicholas (Kirsten) Stapleton, West Monroe, Louisiana, Kyle Stapleton, West Monroe, Louisiana, Kinleigh Coffman, Kyler Coffman, and Kason Coffman, all of Gothenburg, Nebraska and Allen Jones (Mary Jo); four great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Cross, North Platte, Nebraska, Julie (Tony) Pitre, North Platte, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Kathy Sprague, North Platte, Nebraska, Debra (Bruce) James, Loveland, Colorado; brother-in-law, Roger (Joan) Nichols, Lincoln, Nebraska; along with special nieces and nephews, and numerous other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer and Margaretta Sprague, her husband, Gerald Nichols; three brothers, Roger, Steven and Harold Sprague; grandparents, Jess and Sadie Mae Prosise; niece, Dawn Lea Johnson; and uncle Harold Prosise.
Memorials are suggested to the Gift of Hope Cancer Foundation, or Chemo Comfort Tote fund.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January, 20, 2022 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with Reverend Jeremy Rinke officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska. Visitation will be held, noon – 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 19, with family receiving friends from 5 – 7, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
