(North Platte, Neb.) — Work began on Monday, April 15, on L-56D, south of Brady, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals during the bridge work phase of the project. All other work will result in single-lane traffic controlled by pilot car and flaggers.
Paulsen, Inc. of Cozad is the contractor for this project. Work includes bridge repair, asphalt overlay of the link from I-80 to US-30, new guardrail and lighting. Anticipated completion is summer 2024.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
