NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Hank Knisley has been named the 2025 recipient of the Dale Studley Memorial Award, the highest honor presented by Nebraskaland Days to a volunteer.

The award, established in memory of longtime volunteer Dale Studley, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and service to Nebraskaland Days over an extended period of time.

Knisley's involvement with the organization spans more than 20 years. He served on the board of directors from 2003 to 2007 and joined the Buffalo Bill Rodeo Committee in 2008, where he continues to serve as a key contributor.

In 2021, Knisley was honored with two prestigious recognitions: he was named Committeeman of the Year and received the national John Justin Standard of the West Award, which honors volunteers who exemplify honesty, integrity, and hard work.

With a strong background in agriculture and technical operations, Knisley has played a vital behind-the-scenes role in several infrastructure projects, including the renovation and replacement of bucking chute catwalks, improvements to rough stock holding pens, grounds maintenance, spraying, and the distribution of promotional materials throughout the community.

“Hank is the kind of volunteer every organization dreams of—dependable, humble, and driven by a sincere love for the event and the people,” said Bob Lantis, executive director of Nebraskaland Days. “This award is a small way to say thank you for everything he’s done.”

Beyond his technical contributions, Knisley is also known for his easygoing personality, good humor, and an uncanny ability to serve up a great drink—qualities that have made him a favorite among fellow volunteers and guests alike.

Nebraskaland Days congratulates Hank Knisley on this well-deserved honor and thanks him for his years of dedicated service.
