Nichols, Garrick Advance in Ward 3 School Board Race

The North Platte School Board Ward 3 race emerged as one of the highest-profile local contests Tuesday night as unofficial final election results were released in Lincoln County.

Kyle Nichols finished with 799 votes in the race, ahead of Emily Garrick with 487 and Jenny Lantis with 419.

The race drew significant local attention throughout election night as unofficial totals continued changing while additional precincts reported results after polls closed.

A total of 1,706 votes were cast in the Ward 3 race.

Countywide turnout reached 25.60% in Tuesday’s primary election, according to unofficial final totals released by the Lincoln County Clerk’s Office.

The results remain unofficial until canvassed by election officials.
