Gladys L. Hodgson, 96, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Emerald Nursing and Rehab in Cozad, Nebraska.

She was born on March 24, 1927, in Valentine, Nebraska, to Charles and Blanche (Shulenberger) Clements. Upon the death of Charles, in 1931, Gladys and her family moved to Lexington where Blanche met and married Glenn Woodward whereby the family moved to rural Overton. She graduated from Overton High School with the class of 1944. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Hodgson on May 14, 1944.

Gladys began working with Avon and became a representative in 1952. Gladys was devout in her faith and her church, spending her days at the Presbyterian Church where she served in all positions, including Elder and Deacon. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she served as a Chaplain for many years. Gladys loved to garden and greatly enjoyed her flowers.

Those left to cherish her life are her children, Ronnie (Prime) Hodgson of Orchard, Washington, Beth Ann Hodgson of Omaha, Nebraska, sister-in-law, Billie Clements of Lexington, close family friend, Mila Adams, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Glenn Woodward, husband, Kenneth Hodgson, her brothers, Carroll Clements and Alvin Woodward, sister-in-law, Myrene Woodward, an great grandchild, Markeith Hodgson.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Nebraska, with Reverend Eddie Mariel, officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, with family receiving guests from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Interment will be held at Robb Cemetery in Rural Lexington.
