
Red flag warnings are in effect for counties to the west of Lincoln County, the National Weather Service in North Platte said Tuesday.
The high Tuesday is expected to be in the upper-70s, with sustained afternoon winds of 15 to 20 mph, gusting to 30 mph — leading to a critical risk of wildfires.
There is a slight chance of showers before 10 p.m. Tuesday, with a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms. In the early morning hours of Thursday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers.
After highs in the upper-50s to low-60s Wednesday and Thursday, the NWS is calling for a cooler weekend with highs in the mid- to upper-40s.
