Richard "Dick" Allman of North Platte passed away at Linden Court on October 22, 2023, at the age of 97.
Dick was born June 3, 1926, to Arzie and Ora Allman in Jane Lew, WV, where he grew up and attended school. After graduating high school, Dick enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1944-47.
On April 6, 1947, Dick married Faye Cooper in DeKalb, IL. They lived in Bloomington, IL while Dick attended Illinois State University. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in History then they moved to DeKalb and later to Denver in 1959. Dick sold insurance with State Farm then Allstate until retiring. Dick and Faye moved to North Platte in 2015 and were members of First United Methodist Church.
Dick loved traveling and camping. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brother, Maxon Allman.
Survivors include his children, Richard Allman of Plant City, FL, Kathy Althen (Craig) of Bozeman, MT, and Jana Allman (John Forsling) of Lemoyne; grandchildren, Jackie Monie (Heath) of North Platte, Matt Allman (Heather) of Edgewood, MD, and Layna Allman of Sarasota, FL; great-grandchildren, Violet and Lilac Monie; and other family.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. (MT), Tuesday, October 24, in Ash Hollow Cemetery at Lewellen. Online condolences may be shared atodeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
