EYH Conference offers middle school students a look at career options

North Platte Community College hosted 295 students from 12 area middle schools Thursday as part of the Expanding Your Horizons Conference.

The students spent the day listening to speakers and participating in hands-on-activities designed to generate interest in a variety of fields, including microbiology, computer coding, physical therapy, outdoor education, law enforcement and radiology among others. Sessions were led by volunteers from 20 businesses.

The following schools were represented: Adams, Callaway, Eustis-Farnam, Gothenburg, McCook, Mullen, Ogallala, Paxton, St. Pat’s, Sutherland, Wallace and Wauneta-Palisade.
