
David Lee Bomberger, 64, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 in Albuquerque.
David was born October 27, 1957 in North Platte, NE to Bill and Norma (Ogier) Bomberger. He joined the USAF in 1976, after graduating from North Platte High School. Early in his military career, he was stationed in Japan. While there, he met his wife Machiko. They were married on July 12, 1985, in Tokyo and later moved back to the U.S. David was stationed at Kirtland AFB in New Mexico, and later at Sheppard AFB in Texas. MSGT David retired from active duty on April 30, 1997, while stationed at Sheppard AFB, TX. He returned to Albuquerque, NM and continued to work for the USAF as a civilian at Kirtland AFB, NM until January 1, 2020.
Survivors include his wife Machiko of Albuquerque, NM; his children, Anna Bomberger of Albuquerque, NM and Nicole Bomberger of Japan; four sisters, Cathy Nilsson of Omaha, NE, Mary (Scott) Ginsburg of Raleigh, NC, Chrys Botsford of Gothenburg, NE, Sue (Scott) Cumming of Finksburg, MD; two brothers, Lary (Karma) Bomberger and Norm (Cindy) Bomberger, both of North Platte, NE; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bill and Norma, brother, William Bomberger; and nephew, Christopher Botsford.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor James Trippett officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
