North Platte Police Report 215 Traffic Contacts During Speed Enforcement Campaign

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Aug. 5, 2025) — The North Platte Police Department made 215 traffic contacts during a recent speed enforcement campaign that ran from July 12 to July 31, officials announced Tuesday.

The campaign was part of a statewide initiative sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) aimed at reducing speeding and improving road safety.

Of the contacts made, officers issued 47 citations, including 11 for speeding, eight for operator’s license violations, and three for traffic signal violations. Police also made five arrests for driving under the influence.

Seven individuals were taken into custody on arrest warrants, and one person was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Additionally, one juvenile was cited for being a minor in possession (MIP), and one person was cited for having an open alcohol container in a vehicle.
