NORTH PLATTE — The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners met this morning at the Lincoln County Courthouse in North Platte to review routine county business, permits, and funding requests.

The meeting began at 9 a.m. with a prayer followed by approval of minutes from the commissioners’ March 2 meeting and a public comment period.

Commissioners also reviewed several administrative items, including claims and treasurer’s receipts. Board members were scheduled to receive and order filed the 2026 Certification of Public Tax Sale submitted by the county treasurer, as well as fee reports submitted by the clerk of the district court and the county clerk.

Commissioners also considered authorizing the board chair to sign right-of-way permits submitted by Custer Public Power District and Great Plains Communications.

At 9:15 a.m., the commissioners recessed and reconvened as the Lincoln County Board of Equalization. During that meeting, members considered approval of minutes from the March 2 equalization meeting and held a public comment period. The board also reviewed certificates of correction and refund submitted by the county assessor and motor vehicle tax exemption requests submitted by the county treasurer.

After the equalization meeting, commissioners reconvened to continue the regular board meeting. At 9:30 a.m., the board discussed and considered authorizing the chair to sign a grant application through the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The grant, titled “Put the Phone Away or Pay,” supports enforcement efforts aimed at reducing distracted driving.

Commissioners also planned to discuss the purchase of a mechanic truck for the Lincoln County Department of Roads.
