The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, January 20, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Lincoln County Courthouse. The meeting will be streamed live on the county’s YouTube channel.

Following the commissioners meeting, the board will recess and reconvene as the Lincoln County Board of Equalization at 9:15 a.m.

On the commissioners agenda, board members are scheduled to approve minutes from the January 12 meeting and hear public comment. The board will also consider routine financial items, including claims and the treasurer’s receipts, and receive a fee report from the Register of Deeds.

Additional items include authorizing the board chair to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Nebraska State Court Administrator’s Office related to courthouse security cameras, as well as discussion of a Discover card class action claim form.

As the Board of Equalization, commissioners will consider approval of meeting minutes, hear public comment, and review certificates of correction and refund submitted by the county assessor. The board will also review motor vehicle tax exemption applications submitted by the county treasurer.

At 9:30 a.m., the commissioners are scheduled to reconvene and make annual appointments for 2026 to a number of local, regional, and county boards and committees.

Later agenda items include discussion and possible acceptance of a bid for patrol vehicles for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, followed by a presentation from Veterans Service Officer Tom Gann regarding funding concerns at the state level. Commissioners will also discuss and consider replacement of locks at the county jail.

The board may enter closed session if necessary to discuss matters related to litigation, real estate, security deployment, or personnel evaluations, as allowed under Nebraska law.

The meeting will conclude with reports from county commissioners, comments from elected officials or department heads, and updates from Lincoln County Clerk Rebecca J. Rossell.

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to take agenda items out of order and to enter closed session as needed.
