Warren W. Harrach, 84, lifelong resident of North Platte, NE passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Great Plains Health Hospital. Warren was born on July 20, 1939 in North Platte, NE the son of Elmer and Doris (Anthony) Harrach.
Warren graduated from North Platte High School in 1957. While in high school he met his sweetheart, Linda Rae Langford, and they were married on October 2, 1958 in Colorado. Together they had four children: Kathy, Randy, Rich, and Shelly. Following high school, he spent a short time in Los Angeles, CA studying aeronautical engineering. From his time in L.A., he became an L.A. Dodgers fan and loved airplanes. Returning to North Platte he became a mail carrier with the U.S.P.S., retiring in 1992. His delivery routes covered most of the city of North Platte during his career, and he developed a photographic memory of addresses. Following his retirement, he became a fixture at the Platte Bar doing odd jobs. He was an avid golfer, very patriotic, and enjoyed gardening.
Those left to cherish his memory are children, Kathy (Danny) Jones of North Platte, Rich (Pam) Harrach of North Platte, and Shelly (Luke) Ranck of Omaha; grandchildren, Ryan, Gregg, and Becky Jones, Austin and Hannah Rae Harrach, Kristen Harrach Perez, Kole Harrach, Payton Ranck, and Luke Ranck, III; 7 great-grandchildren; daughter in law, Sheri Harrach of Omaha; sister, Betty (Mo) Olsen of AZ; brothers, Roy Harrach of CO, and Bryan Harrach; sisters in law, Sandy Harrach of Scottsbluff, and Judy Harrach of North Platte; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Rae; son, Randy Harrach; brothers, Gordy and Edd Harrach; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Peg Langford.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel (the family requests that casual or Husker attire be worn). Burial will follow in the North Platte City Cemetery. Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
