News Release Great Plains Health

NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-The North Platte Twin Rivers Urgent Care has officially joined the Great Plains Health family. The clinic will open under its new name, Great Plains Urgent Care, today.

“Providing patient first care has been the mission of Twin Rivers Urgent Care for over 15 years,” said Dr. Bryan Nockelby, Twin Rivers Urgent Care owner. “This past year has changed healthcare and we wanted to ensure the North Platte Urgent Care would continue to be a locally operated asset for the community. It was important to us that our employees and providers are aligned with a company that shares our values and passion for patient-first quality care.  Great Plains Health felt like the perfect fit.”

Over the past month, the two companies worked through the details of the sale, which is effective today.

“It is not part of our organization’s strategy to actively pursue the purchase of local clinics,” said Mel McNea, Great Plains Health chief executive officer. “However, when we are approached with an intent to sell and believe that our involvement will secure access to local healthcare, we come to the table. We believe doing so keeps providers in our community and gives patients the access they need to local healthcare.”

Urgent Care Providers Dr. Cheryl Roth; Cheryl Hunt, APRN, and Amanda Kramer, PA-C, have agreed to continue with Great Plains Urgent Care. All 15 team members will transition to Great Plains Health employment as well.

Great Plains Urgent Care will maintain the same hours of operation (Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.) and can be reached at the same telephone number 308.534.2900. Virtual Care through solvehealth.com will continue as well.

Urgent Care clinics offer quick care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, such as sprains and strains, minor burns, coughs, sore throats and flu-like symptoms, as well as physicals, vaccinations, general diagnostics and check-ups. The clinic also provides occupational medicine services to local employers, including examinations and treatment of injured workers in worker's compensation cases, pre-employment screenings and drug tests.
