Gail Ellen Tagtmeyer, age 78, died in faith in her LORD, Jesus Christ, on November 29, 1923, at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO.

Gail was born June 11, 1945, to Albert Christian and Ella Marie (Kreinbring) Christensen in Sterling, Colorado.  She attended grade school and high school in Sterling, graduating in 1963.  Gail married; her son, Bruce Duane Wagner, was born on August 6, 1964.  They lived in northern Nebraska for several years.  After her divorce, she went back to Sterling.  Gail was then employed for about twenty years by the Sterling Advocate Newspaper as a business manager. 

On April 30, 1994, Gail was united in marriage to Louis Eugene Tagtmeyer at Peace Lutheran Church in Sterling, Colorado.  Their first date was a drive around Lake McConaughy.  The couple resided in the Ogallala area.  Gail enjoyed her friends, puzzles, computers, and singing.  She was a faithful member of the local and zone Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in Ogallala.  For over twenty-five years Gail served as a volunteer at St. Paul’s in various capacities, including, but not limited to: preschool, after-school, office helper, ladies' circle, and choir.  For the past few years, she was employed by St. Paul’s as a school secretary to the head teacher, Dru Lutkehus.

She is survived by her husband, Louis; son, Bruce of Sterling;  granddaughter, Prairie Rose (Nick) Morales of Sterling; pet dog, Shadow; Rick Lee Tagtmeyer, son-in-law, of Chappell;  grandsons, Dillon Allen (Jamie) Tagtmeyer of Gordon, Austin Leroy (Rachel) Tagtmeyer of Mendon, NE; Weston Lee Tagtmeyer of Chappell; great-grandson Jackson Tagtmeyer of Gordon, NE;  sisters, Sharon Ann Hamilton of Albuquerque, NM and Lila Johanna Moore of Sterling, CO;  sister-in-law, Vida Rilley of Longmont, CO; brothers-in-law’s, Gary Tagtmeyer of South Port, NC and  Henry (Alberta) Tagtmeyer of Seibert, CO.

Preceding Gail in death were her parents; Louis’ parents, Edmond and Ruby Rilla Tagtmeyer; sister-in-law, Nadine Willt and Norma Jean Standart.

A memorial service will be Thursday, December 7th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School, Ogallala, NE with Rev. Albert Bader of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Rev. John Stubenrouch of Ogallala, Nebraska.

Inurnment will be at the Ogallala Cemetery, Ogallala, NE.
