Judith Lynne “Judy” Schmidt, 79, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away March 4, 2022 in North Platte. She was born February 5, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Burton Wade and Mary Louise (Owen) Whiteley.
Judy attended Oklahoma State. After college she started her career in Bartlesville, Oklahoma with an oil company. On July 27, 1974, Judy was untied in marriage to F. Carroll Schmidt. To this union two children were born: Kimberly and Michelle. The couple lived in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Judy lived in Bellevue, NE from the early '80s up until she moved to North Platte in 2020 to be closer to her family.
Judy loved animals, especially horses. She was a member of the Eastern Star, PEO, and CASA Advocate. She enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, and traveling. Judy loved native American history and artifacts. She was also a pianist and loved classical music.
Judy is survived by her two daughters, Kim (Chad Voss) Tiller, Gretna, Nebraska, Michelle (Shawn) Murdock, North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren, Katelyn Tiller, Phoenix, Arizona, Jackson Bathen, Gretna, Nebraska, Ashlynn Murdock and Leightyn Murdock, of North Platte, Nebraska; one brother, Charles (Judy) Whiteley, Santa Fe, New Mexico; one sister-in-law, Billie Whiteley, Edmond, Oklahoma; four nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Mary Louise Whiteley; grandchildren, Trenton Tiller, Caide and Owen Murdock; brother Ronald Whiteley.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church with Rev. Karl Millis officiating. Book signing will be 9-5, Monday, March 21, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
