North Platte, Nebraska — The Connection Homeless Shelter is proud to share continued progress on its veteran’s tiny home village, Honor Home at Patty’s Place, a project dedicated to providing safe, stable housing for veterans experiencing homelessness.

As momentum builds, the organization invites community members, partners, and supporters to join in a special ground blessing ceremony to mark the next phase of development. The ceremony will be led by Father Sorensen of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and will take place on 2:00 PM, Friday, May 8, 2026, at 413 East 5th Street.

Honor Home at Patty’s Place represents a long-term commitment to addressing veteran homelessness through dignity-centered housing and supportive services. The village model is designed to foster both independence and community, offering veterans a place to rebuild, reconnect and find support in shared experience.

“This project reflects what’s possible when a community comes together with purpose,” said Ashley Lewis, Executive Director. “We’re not just building homes; we’re creating a path forward for veterans who have given so much.”

Since its initial announcement, the project has made meaningful strides thanks to the generosity and involvement of local supporters, volunteers, and partners. The upcoming ground blessing serves as both a celebration of progress and a renewed call to action.

The Connection Homeless Shelter encourages community members to stay engaged and support the continued development of Honor Home at Patty’s Place. Contributions, volunteer efforts, and advocacy remain essential to bringing the vision fully to life.
