
Marian Cochennet 89, of Amarillo was called home on Sunday June 25th, 2023 to be with her Lord and Savior.
Marian was born in Steubenville, Ohio on September 22nd, 1933. She proudly served in the Air Force from October 1951 to October 1955 as a Radio Operator during the Korean War. After leaving the service, she married Charles Cochennet and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1956. Marian was a housewife and also worked for the Lincoln credit bureau for several years between 1961 and 1967. After Chuck retired in 1990, they moved to North Platte, Nebraska to “escape the big city”. Marian also worked for a bakery in North Platte for several years. Chuck passed away in 2013 and she moved to Amarillo and was taken care of by family in 2015 until her passing.
She is survived by her sons: Steve and wife Joann of Amarillo; Greg and wife Susy of Lincoln; Glen and Ana of Omaha, grandchildren: Ryan, Colby, Sara, Madison, and Chloe, as well as four great-grandchildren: Everly, Asher, Bentley, and Baylor.
Marian is preceded in death by her parents: Michael and Mary Bezak, husband: Charles Cochennet, siblings: Robert, Gerald, Michael, Jack, and Sarah. Marian will be sorely missed but the family takes great comfort knowing she is in the arms of Jesus and reunited with her loved ones who proceeded her.
Funeral Service will be held celebrating her life at Memorial Park funeral home in Amarillo, Texas on Friday June 30, 2023. Her burial with military honors will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska with Father Vidya Sagar Arikotla officiating. Memorials can be made to the Humane Society in her name. Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte is assisting the family with local arrangements.
