Robert George Perrett was born March 31, 1927 in Hyannis, Nebraska to George and Ruth (Alsworth) Perrett. He was raised in the Hyannis area until he was 13, and then his family moved to a ranch south of Wood Lake, Nebraska. He told stories of the cattle drive from Hyannis to Wood Lake. They even had a chuck wagon on the drive.
His freshman year he attended school in Omaha and then transferred to school in Curtis, Nebraska. In his junior year at the age of 17 he joined the Unites States Navy.
Bob married Betty Jean Morehouse on June 1, 1948 at the United Methodist Church in Valentine, Nebraska. They were blessed with 4 children that were raised on the ranch south of Wood Lake. Bob and Betty were able to celebrate 73 years of marriage together.
Bob received his license to fly when he was 17 and it became his most loved hobby forever. After Bob and Betty retired from the ranch they spent 10 years full time motor homing across the United States. They spent the last 18 years between their home in Valentine and their home in Wood Lake.
Bob passed away at his home in Valentine, Nebraska on April 4, 2021. This was Easter Sunday and also his mothers birthday.
He was preceded in death by parents George & Ruth Perrett, son Robert George Perrett Jr, and grandson Robert George Perrett III.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, daughter, Jeannie Schelhaas, and son Richard Perrett; his grandchildren, Kim Allard, Sharee Maki, Jessica Bowser, Jacob Battershaw, Kandee Rainbolt, Angela Perrett, Lacey Mink, Jayme Long, Lexie Perrett, Cooper Perrett and brother; James Ocie Alsworth Perrett. Also surviving are 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and 1 niece; Suzanne Bussinger.
