John Stout of Sutherland, passed away at Great Plains Health on December 4, 2023, at age 80.
John was born February 24, 1943 to Deorman and Mary Stout in Kansas City, KS, and grew up between North Platte and California. He enlisted into the U.S. Army and served from 1962-66.
On June 21, 1964, John married Doreen Fisher at Paxton. They lived in California and Nebraska and have called Sutherland home the past 32 years. John was a jack-of-all-trades and an avid antique tractor puller. He was a member of Platte Valley Pullers for many years and enjoyed going to auctions.
Family was most important to John. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and his little dog, Molly. John was Superman to his grandkids and the strongest man his family knew. He will always be loved and missed by all who knew him.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Deorman and Mary Stout; parents-in-law, Jack and Ilene Fisher; sister, Jo Stout; brother, Deorman Matthew Stout; and brothers-in-law, Jack L. Fisher and Ken Brand.
Survivors include John's wife of nearly 60 years, Doreen; son, Rich Stout (Shelly) of Hershey; daughters, Deb Stout and Shelly Compton (Philip) of Sutherland and his little Molly; grandchildren, Elizabeth Compton, Natalie Compton and Shaun Yetter (Jennifer); his siblings, Eileen Morrell (LeRoy) of North Platte and Ruby Ann Lange (Larry) and Charles Stout (Sara) of Hershey; sister-in-law, Alice Brand of Georgia and her daughters, Melanie and Stephanie; niece, Brandi Lemon and nephew, Scott Fisher; as well as other nieces, nephews and family members.
