The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will hear an update on a proposed CO2 pipeline, recognize several longtime county employees and begin work on the county's 2026-2027 budget when it meets Monday morning.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday, August 24, in the Commissioners Room at the Lincoln County Courthouse.

Among the items on the agenda is a 9:35 a.m. presentation from Matt Bright of Turnkey Logistics, who is expected to introduce commissioners to a new CO2 pipeline planned to come through Lincoln County.

Commissioners will also consider several routine county matters, including claims and treasurer's receipts, right-of-way applications from Hershey Telephone Company, Broken Bar M Ranch and McCook Public Power District, and the final report of distress warrants submitted by the County Treasurer.

The board will also consider Resolution No. 2026-26, determining the final allocation of levy for political subdivisions under the county levy limit. Commissioners are also scheduled to consider a Keno Sales Operator agreement involving Unreel Events, doing business as Last Chance Bar & Grill, and the City of North Platte.

Following the commissioners meeting, the board will convene as the Lincoln County Board of Equalization at 9:15 a.m. The board will consider certificates of correction and refund submitted by the County Assessor, a notice involving a Homestead Exemption appeal and motor vehicle tax exemption applications submitted by the County Treasurer.

After reconvening as the Board of Commissioners, the board will consider an agreement with Oak Creek Engineering for professional services related to routine bridge inspections in 2026.

At 9:30 a.m., Lincoln County will recognize three employees for their years of service. Tammy White will be honored for 35 years, Amanda Speichert for 25 years and Derek Hanna for 15 years of service.

Other items on the agenda include a request from the Region 51 Emergency Management Director to attend a First Responder Mental Health and Wellness Conference for CISM in Kansas City October 1-2 and approval of the 2026 Lincoln County inventory for all departments.

The commissioners will then begin a 2026-2027 budget work session at 10:10 a.m. The first departments scheduled for review are the I.T. Department, Building and Grounds and the Public Defender's Office.

The board reserves the right to enter closed session as necessary and may take agenda items out of order for the convenience of those involved.

The meeting is open to the public and is also available for viewing through the county's YouTube channel.
