Six inches of hail covered Highway 34 near Haigler

BENKELMAN, Neb - Six inches of hail covered Highway 34 between Colorado state line and Haigler on Sunday afternoon as severe storms rolled through southwest Nebraska, eastern Colorado and northwest Kansas.

This has since been cleaned up. The Dundy County Sheriff's office in Benkelman posted a thank you to road crews and Haigler Fire Department on social media Sunday evening. Haigler is a small village in western Dundy County 7 miles from the Colorado state line, and 20 miles west of Benkelman.
