NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Four people have been arrested as part of an ongoing North Platte Police Department drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, a firearm and cash believed to be connected to narcotics distribution.
The investigation began on July 27, when officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2300 block of West 6th Street.
According to police, investigators recovered suspected controlled substances, including a substance that tested positive for a fentanyl and methamphetamine compound, another substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, two digital scales and packaging materials commonly associated with narcotics distribution.
Following the search, Jakob Centeno, 35, and Lucas Sellers, 42, were arrested on two counts each of possession of a controlled substance. Police said the investigation remained active after the search warrant was completed.
On Aug. 5, officers located a vehicle associated with Nicholle Caudillo, 36, who was identified as the resident of the West 6th Street home. Officers conducted a traffic stop near Fourth and Walnut streets, where Caudillo and Mason Shavlik, 32, were identified as occupants.
After Caudillo was taken into custody in connection with the July 27 investigation, officers searched the vehicle. Police say they found methamphetamine, multiple tablets believed to be fentanyl, a small amount of marijuana, a loaded 9mm SCCY pistol and U.S. currency believed to be associated with narcotics distribution.
Caudillo now faces charges stemming from both the July 27 search and the Aug. 5 traffic stop. Her charges include possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine, distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, possession of money and drugs, and a drugs and firearm enhancement.
Shavlik faces charges of distribution of fentanyl, distribution of methamphetamine, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, possession of money and drugs, and a drugs and firearm enhancement.
Centeno and Sellers each face two counts of possession of a controlled substance related to the July 27 search.
The North Platte Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing.
All charges are allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
