NORTH PLATTE, NE – October 9, 2025 – North Platte residents came together for this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, raising more than $9,600 to support the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
“The Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter sincerely thanks the many dedicated Walk participants, volunteers and sponsors who made the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s a tremendous success,” said Ashley Shum, Walk to End Alzheimer’s Manager. “The funds raised will help fuel disease research while also providing critical care and support to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementia.”
This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s – North Platte welcomed nearly 100 participants and was proudly locally sponsored by Runza.
Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Nebraska, there are more than 35,000 people living with the disease and 41,000 caregivers.
