ALLIANCE, Neb.-The grassroots political party in Nebraska Legal Marijuana Now will have a candidate for Nebraska Attorney General on the 2022 ticket.
Larry Bolinger announced his bid for the office on Wednesday.
Bolinger, of Alliance, is the District 3 chairman of the Legal Marijuana Now party and rand for the 3rd Congressional District seat in 2020.
Bolinger said in a news release that he plans to focus his campaign on law reform, reduce penalties for victimless crimes, remove truancy as a status offense, expand drug courts to help reduce recidivism, as well as the legalization of marijuana in the state.
At age 52, Bolinger earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, majoring in Political Science and Minor in Criminology with a concentration in government affairs and civic engagement.
Bolinger has served on several local commissions, including the Alliance Planning Commission.
Attorney General Doug Peterson is currently serving his second term.
