
Henry Clayton “Hank” Houchin, 81, of North Platte, passed away February 1, 2022 at Great Plains Health. He was born on June 25, 1940 to Paul and Myrtle (Lantz) Houchin in North Platte.
Hank graduated from North Platte High School with the class 1958. He married Mildred Rowley on December 16, 1959 and to this union two children were born, Mona and Jerry. Hank enlisted in the United States Navy and served for 21 years, serving in Vietnam.
After retirement, Hank worked at KNOP as technician and also taught electronics at Mid-Plains Community College. He hired on with Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician and retired after 27 years of service.
Hank married Harvie Ottaberry in 2014. He was proud of his faith and was a member of Assembly of God Church. Hank was a pilot, loved to fly, and build his own planes. He loved electronics and was very gifted in fixing things. He was well loved by his family and friends and had a tender heart; he will be missed.
Survivors include wife, Harvie of North Platte; children, Mona (Lloyd) Graves of Loveland, CO, Jerry (Jeannie) Houchin of Salina, KS; step children, Teresa Rhodes of Kirkland, WA, Brandy Niakan, Heidi Lollos of Owaso, OK; grandchildren, Michael, Sean, Danny, Ashley, Addie, Alyssa, Josh; four great grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; sister, Pauline (Vernon) Waits of Tryon; brother-in-law, Stephen Weston of North Platte; numerous other family members and friends.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Myrtle; wife, Mildred; siblings, Blaine, Kathy, and David.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor’s Gary Goodwin and Dave Cummings. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., with family present 5:00-7:00, Friday, February 4, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend.
