Gary “Goose” Ivan Burke, 83, of Brady, passed away in his sleep on February 1, 2022 at his home.  He was born November 4, 1938 to Earl and Mary (Martin) Burke in Lincoln County.
Gary graduated from Maxwell Public School with the class of 1957.  After high school he enlisted in the Military Honor Guard as a Private First Class and served as a medic from January 24, 1962 until he was honorably discharged on August 2, 1963.  Gary worked for Lincoln County Department of Roads as a maintainer operator for 29 years.
In 1966, Gary married Patsy (Reutzel) Burke and they were happily married for 50 years.  They built a life on the farm outside of Maxwell and raised two boys.  Gary lived a fulfilling life of farming with his sons, playing cards with family and friends, listening to win Monogram Money, fishing, and hanging out with his grandkids.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary; wife; Patsy; sister, Mary (Ivan) Gutherless.
Gary is survived by his son Pete (Cathy Rolen) Burke of Brady and their children Charles and Robert Rolen of Georgia; son, Wade (Lisa) Burke of Brady and their children, Monica (Jake) Howe, Madelyn (Myles Hicks) Burke, Jared (Alex Frey) Cox, Josie (Tyler Fear) Cox; great grandchildren Bryson Howe and Clara Cox.

Visitation will be held noon-6:00 P.M., with family present 5:00-6:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.  Burial will take place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.  Private family services will be held at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements
